Charge Against Mine Officials

John George Taylor, manager, and Matthew Davison, under-manager, of the Montagu Colliery, Newcastle-on-Tyne, have been charged, at the instance of the Director of Public Prosecutions, with an infringement of the Mines Act by alleged negligence in connexion with a flooding of the main seam last April, when men were imperilled and one was drowned. The hearing will take place at Newcastle on October 26.
